Writing

THE LOST AND FOUND

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Ali has been writing since she was thirteen years old- creating poetry, short stories, and even full transcripts for novels. Her most notable work, however, was a project that blended her love for writing with music: The Lost and Found.

Conceived in 2022, Ali took two years to write a full length script and compose sixteen original songs for her original musical. By 2024, she was able to have her work produced and professionally recorded on the stage of Mercy McAuley, a high school with a highly acclaimed and award winning theatre program.

One of her songs from The Lost and Found reached a Broadway stage in 2025 with the help of The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT). NAMT assisted Ali with publishing and orchestrating one of her songs, Why Not, making her music nationally acclaimed.

The future for The Lost and Found has yet to come, as Ali is still seeking publishing and licensing opportunities for her work.

SHOW SYNOPSIS

In this house, the living aren’t the only ones waiting to be found...

Set in 1953, The Lost and Found tells the story of Maria Fundel, a newly divorced mother determined to reinvent herself in an era that idolizes perfect families and traditional households. With her daughters, Winifred and Lillie, she seeks refuge in a sprawling Victorian mansion across the country, hoping distance will shield them from judgment. But the house is not as empty as it seems. Within its walls lingers the Lost Family—souls cursed and silenced for more than fifty years. As the Fundels make the mansion their home, the Lost Family awakens, sensing that Maria may hold the long-awaited key to their release.
